Short and Sweet: TV (August ’15)

The 100 (season 1)

After seeing the Tumblr community rave about this show during it’s second season, I couldn’t ignore the show any longer and jumped right into season one. OH. GOD. WAS IT GOOD. I can’t remember the last time I was this hooked on a TV show. The storyline follows 100 under 18s who have been sent to the ground from space to test if Earth is survivable and man, did stuff go down. This show has the diversity, it has the strong females, it has the great storyline and cliffhanger that will make you glad you didn’t have to wait a whole year for season two. My favourite character has the be Clarke from the girls and Bellamy from the boys (although, let’s face it, he’s pretty problematic). I’ve seen some season two spoilers already trust me when I say this show just keeps getting better.

RATING: [8.5/10]

Revenge (season 4)

This has been a series that I’ve been following since the very beginning which is a rare thing for me. Naturally, when it was announced that the fourth season would be the final one I was more than shocked. I couldn’t get my head around it and after venting to my friend (also a fan of the show) I dreaded the final episode as I’ve witnessed many finales before which just didn’t do anything for me. THIS WAS NOT ONE OF THOSE. I marathoned the last 10 episodes back to back and boy were they good. Revenge was dropping cliffhanger after cliffhanger and those were some of, if not THE best episodes this show has seen. And the ending, oh the ending. I cried, I laughed, and I grinned like an idiot because the way it all wrapped up was faultless and I cannot imagine a better ending for all of my favourite characters.

RATING: [8/10]

Game of Thrones (season 5)

Although season 5 definitely wasn’t my favourite, it was still so good to have this show back. This season bought my two favourites together (Dany and Tyrion for the win! *happy dance*) and killed, well, let’s say more main characters than I expected. All the storylines are really interesting but this season just seemed a bit duller compared to the last for example. Don’t get me wrong it was still a great show, yet I wasn’t desperate to watch the episodes as soon as they aired like I was last year or the year before. Am I excited for the next season? Of course! I can’t wait for Daenerys’ plotline and I absolutely need to know what’s going to happen to Cersei! In the words of one of my favourite youtubers, Dan Howell, “I’m glad to live in a world where Game of Thrones is a thing.”

RATING: [7/10]

What have you been watching recently? What season finale blew your mind?

Leave it all in the comments and I’ll make sure to keep adding to my never ending to-watch list…
